5th Era Politics in Hammerfell

This will be like Rowan's High Rock one, meant to set up Hammerfell for when the Covenant gets there for the Great Council.  Most of this would be common knowledge to characters within The Daedra Wars.

I will be adding to this blog.

The eight kingdoms of Hammerfell are split between two factions, the Crowns and Forebears.  The kingdoms jump between factions and what decides a kingdom also fluctuates.  This is the current political make-up in 5E 9.

  • 1 Crowns
  • 2 Forebear
  • 3 Factionless
  • 4 Background

Sentinel:  Sentinel is the most powerful kingdom in Hammerfell.  Currently ruled by Tasaio al Mutairi, who holds the titles High King of Hammerfell, King of Sentinel, Great King of the Yokudans, and King of Kings.  Under the ambitious rule of Tasaio, it has beg…

Justice Rides Again

The J’darr Bar in Senchal was a quiet, unpeculiar place. Working men came here after long days to drink aware their troubles and share words with like minded men. Bar fights were infrequent and those that did start were always ended quickly. The lighting was soft, the seats barrels, the tables converted wagon beds. The floor was planked wood, scattered with hay that had fallen from the thatched ceiling. It was rustic, pleasant, the atmosphere calming. It was a place a man could think.

And Sir Nohaden’Cade, the Augur of Justice, Saviour of the World, needed to think. Or at least, listen. If he were entirely honest with himself (which he never was and never had been), both were difficult tasks for him. In the months since the end of the Darkes…

Smith's Second Story

Smith’s day started as all his day’s started. The sun rose, he dressed, and it was out to feed the pigs and goats. Come harvest, they’d sell the pigs at the market, and the goat’s milk could be used to make food.

The animals fed, Smith picked up the man-sized pitcher from behind the shed and walked a mile to the river, where he filled it up with the day’s water. Full, it would’ve taken six men to lift it. Smith carried it over his shoulder and didn’t feel the weight. The townsfolk were always curious how the Smiths managed to have so much clean water, and how they could be so liberal with it. It was better they not know.

He set the pitcher inside the shed and headed into the smithy. They kept the smelter running all hours, in order fo…

Oink Oink

Part of Smith Young's backstory.

“SMITH!”

The boy’s eyes shot open and he turned his head to look out the window. The sun was halfway up into the sky. Oh boy.

“SMITH YOUNG!”

He threw the duvet off and scrambled out of bed. He caught his foot on the bedpost fell to the ground with a thump.

“SMITH YOUNG IF YOU’RE NOT DOWN HERE IN FIVE MINUTES…”

Oh man, oh man, oh man, oh man.

He crawled across the floor to his dresser and the drawers right off their tracks in his haste.

“YOU ARE IN FOR THE BIGGEST GROUNDING…”

Damnit, blazes, almighty Akatosh…

He hopped around the room on one leg as he hurried to get into his trousers.

“OF YOUR ENTIRE LIFE…”

He pulled shirt over his head and slipped into it. He went back to the drawer for stockings and came away empty han…

The Hero Made of Sand

This is a super short part of what will be a much larger piece, detailing Daiabn’s exploits, and more of the Empress’ and Diagna’s backstory. Basically consider this the introduction to what will be a short story.

A fire was unnecessary, but they lit one for purely habit’s sake.

Nerenzul Yaharn was bent over his hammer, working inscriptions and carvings into the ancient masterpiece

The dwarves, his people, had gone from the world. He did not know if he was the last of his race, but he was certainly the last of his tribe. The Rourken were gone.

This was why the inscriptions were important. The hammer he was working on was the most valuable relic of his tribe. Never had he crafted anything finer than Volendrung. It would survive the test of time…
